Step 1: COOK PASTA

Read through the entire recipe before getting started. Bring 6 cups water to rolling boil over medium heat. Add penne and a pinch of salt and pepper, cook stirring occasionally until penne is al dente, about 8-10 min. While pasta is cooking, begin the mise en place (Step #2).

Step 2: MISE EN PLACE

Wash and dry all produce. Mince garlic. Remove roasted tomatoes from package and rough chop. Mince parsley leaves and stems. Cut lemon in half. Remove shrimp from package; rinse and pat dry.

Step 3: MAKE GARLIC SHRIMP

Melt butter in medium sauté pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté 1-2 min until soft and fragrant. Add shrimp and sauté until fully cooked and pink, about 3-4 min. USDA recommends cooking shrimp to an internal temperature of 145ºF.

Step 4: MAKE SAUCE

Sprinkle flour over shrimp; stir and cook 1-2 min over medium heat. Add heavy cream and a pinch of salt and pepper; mix using a whisk until incorporated and starting to thicken.

Step 5: FINISH PASTA

Add cooked penne, roasted tomatoes and spinach to the sauce. Cook 4-5 min mixing until all ingredients are evenly distributed and spinach has wilted.

Step 6: PLATE YOUR DISH

Divide Tuscan shrimp penne between two bowls. Squeeze half lemon over pasta and garnish with parsley. Enjoy! Note: Remember to remove tails from shrimp before eating.
