One-Pan Rosemary Salt Crusted Steak & Potatoes

Crisp & buttery rosemary-salt crusted steak with crispy skillet potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and garlic.

There is very few things in the world better than a one-pan dinner! The feeling of little to no cleanup makes dinner that much better. So here is a recipe you will use forever: One-pan steak and potatoes! You are welcome, Minnesota.

Ingredients
Cremini mushrooms
Russet potato
Rosemary
Garlic
Shallot
Top sirloin
Butter

Step 1: MISE EN PLACE

Read though the entire recipe before getting started. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Wash and dry all produce. Dice potatoes into 1" cubes. Leave mushrooms whole. Leave one rosemary sprig whole and mince the other sprig. Smash garlic pressing with the back of a knife to break slightly. Peel shallot and discard peel; then, slice thinly. Remove steak from package; rise and pat dry.

Step 2: CRUST STEAK

Place 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt in small bowl, minced rosemary and a pinch of pepper. Pat steak until very dry; then, press steak onto salt mixture until a light crust has formed. Flip and crust the other side.

Step 3: SEAR STEAK

Heat 1 tsp. oil in a medium sauté pan over medium heat. Add to hot pan and sear on each side for 3-4 min until browned. Remove from heat and set aside. Note: Steak will not be fully cooked at this point.

Step 4: SAUTÉ POTATOES

Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in pan used to sear steak. Add diced potatoes and shallot; then, sauté 4-6 min until browned on the edges. After, add mushrooms, garlic and remaining rosemary sprig. Sauté another 3-4 min.

Step 5: FINISH PAN

Return steaks to pan and set on top of potatoes. Place one butter pat on top of each steak and transfer to oven to finish cooking. Roast for 8-10 min until potatoes are tender and steaks are cooked to desired consistency.

Step 6: PLATE YOUR DISH

Divide steak and potatoes between two plates. Enjoy!
