This quick and easy dish packs a flavorful punch. Asian-inspired flavors like sesame, ginger, and miso paste are vibrant throughout. Miso, a paste made from mashed fermented soybeans, is highlighted in the a miso honey pan sauce that is drizzled over the seared red drum and crispy kale.

Step 1: COOK RICE

Read through entire recipe before getting started. Combine the rice with 1 1/2 cups of water in a small pot with lid. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer; cook for 20 min, until the water has been absorbed. Remove from heat and keep covered. Drizzle with vinegar blend and fluff rice with a fork before serving. While rice is cooking move on to mise en place (Step #2).

Step 2: MISE EN PLACE

Preheat oven to 425ºF. Wash and dry all produce. Remove center rib from kale and chop into large pieces. Mince or grate garlic. Combine miso honey with 1/2 cup water, mixing until dissolved. Remove red drum from package, rinse, and pat dry.

Step 3: BAKE KALE

Combine garlic, kale, sesame ginger dressing and a pinch of salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Toss until kale is coated well. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and place in the oven to bake for 6-8 min until kale is slightly crisp on the edges. Remove from oven and set aside. While the kale is baking move on to sear red drum (Step #4).

Step 4: SEAR RED DRUM

Heat 2 Tbsp. oil over medium heat in a medium sauté pan. Season red drum with a pinch of salt and pepper on each side. Add red drum and sear for 2-3 min per side. Remove from pan and set aside.

Step 5: MAKE THE SAUCE

Deglaze red drum pan with miso honey water. Simmer for 2-3 min until sauce has thickened slightly. Turn off heat.

Step 6: PLATE YOUR DISH

Divide sticky rice between 2 bowls. Top with crispy kale and red drum. Drizzle with miso honey pan sauce and garnish with black sesame seeds. Enjoy!
